In the past few nights, Zoey wasn't getting much sleep at all. She wasn't sure why, but every night she'd go to bed and lie there for what seemed like hours before she finally went to sleep. By the time that happened, it felt like she only woke up a couple of minutes later, which was only a couple of hours later. Each night Zoey thought, and hoped, that it would be the night where she'd finally get some sleep. May be her body would break down and demand sleep and then finally she'd just pass out on her bed for more than a few hours. However, this didn't happen. Zoey was still just as tired, if not more, as the previous day.
Zoey found herself wandering around after classes and ended up in the courtyard. Feeling her legs almost buckle from beneath her, she sat down on a bench in the middle of the courtyard, first putting her hands down to stop herself from falling. She put her hand to her head, trying to stablize her vision. The trees around her looked blurry, so she blinked a few times to refocus. It didn't help much, but at least she could see the things around her.

Mathew for some reason wanted to go the courtyard today. He had heard some rumors about creatures that lurk around there. It probably wasn't true at all, but his curiosity led to him to check it out. Maybe he could find someone or something thing to do there.
He least expected his sister to be in the courtyards. Mathew haven't seen her lately, once in a while he could see her in classes. But that was all. She wasn't herself lately, and the look on her face was always tired. Quietly he sneak up behind her back, and quickly put his hands on her shoulders. "Boo!" He said childishly but loud into her ear, wandering how she might react.

"Mathew, you know that doesn't work on me." Zoey looked up at her brother and then turned around to face him. Zoey had trained herself not to jump at loud noises or at anything shocking. Well, it was more likely that her mother trained her to be that way, but Zoey liked the thought that she, herself, had something to do with it. Most things that her mother taught her weren't in very nice ways and most things weren't usual for most families. Zoey was glad that she didn't jump at loud noises, though. It was just another way to shock someone or laugh at them.
"So what are you doing out here?" she asked him. Zoey hadn't seen Mathew around for a little bit, but it didn't really matter. They were still pretty close and could tell when something was wrong with the other person's life. From what Zoey could tell, Mathew was doing pretty fine, or else he was getting better at hiding his emotions from her.

Mathew let go of his hands and sat by Zoey. "Too bad, it used to hilarious when you fall for it." He said as he turned to look at her. He can remember their first year together, how they laughed and acted like little kids. But now she matured a lot, probably because of their mother. Besides, he knew father didn't really enjoy the fact that he's failing some of his classes.
Returning to her question, Mathew looked up into the sky. "Just finding trouble." He said, then put his hands down so he can lean back. "Are you up for some fun today? I haven't seen you laugh in a while."
