Ah, Sunday, Zoey thought as she rolled out of bed. It was already nearly eleven in the morning and she had slept in quite late. Usually Zoey woke up at a fairly early time. She was never one to sleep in, especially with her parents' rule about not sleeping in even when she could. This rule was enforced every summer very strongly, and with the warm weather recently, Zoey was surprised that she had allowed herself to sleep in so late. Usually the warm weather was a sort of sign to tell her body to be more aware about what she did and not to sleep in or do any of the other things she wasn't allowed to do when she was home. For instance, Zoey could never have 'junk food', or anything unhealthy at all. This included any amount of food which was too much for a 'lady' to have in one sitting. While most of Zoey's friends in her childhood used to have snacks and the like, Zoey was forced to have vegetables and very light foods seldomly in the day. At Hogwarts, though, it was harder to keep to her strict diet that was laid out for her at home. The House-Elves always made a meal to make anyone full and sometimes Zoey found it hard to resist. Now that she was in her sixth year, though, Zoey was finding it easier to resist the 'good' food that was made for the students. Others would call it 'good' food, but Zoey only saw it as another poisoned candy in the summer. Her mother always poisoned any candies that were left throughout the house to teach Zoey a lesson about eating them. Apparently Daphne's mother did that to her as well, but Zoey couldn't see herself doing it to her child, if she ever had one.
Zoey walked down to the lake once she got dressed, needing some fresh air. Whenever she slept in too late, her back hurt very much. It was probably something else that her parents did to her bed to make her wake up early in the morning when she was younger. She could never get her mother to admit it, but Zoey always thought that her mother put spells on the bed to make her wake up early or else she'd be in pain. That, or she made the House-Elves do it, which was more probable. People in Zoey's family rarely did anything for themselves. They usually got other people to do it for them, which Zoey was learning to do as well.
When she got down to the lake, she sat down on the lushous grass and put her hands behind her as she took in the cool breeze coming off the lake. It was always slightly cooler around the lake during the warmer days because of the cool water, which was why Zoey liked it so much. It was always the perfect place to be when the sun was at its strongest. The sun wasn't at that point yet, but Zoey still enjoyed the cool breeze in her hair.
